About the role
STV’s Transportation group in Chicago, IL is seeking experienced transportation construction inspectors for upcoming full-time and part-time, short-term and long-term projects with Chicago Region clients. Positions require 5+ years of experience on civil, buildings, railroad track, and/or bridge construction inspection projects. OSHA training or certification is a plus.
Requirements
- High School Diploma (or GED) and relevant technical highway or bridge construction or construction inspection experience
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management preferred
- 5+ years of construction inspection and/or management experience with civil, buildings, and/or bridge construction inspection projects
- Experience with Excel, Microsoft Word, CTA Trimble, and EBuilder (a plus)
- Concrete, asphalt, traffic control, and track experience
- OSHA Construction Safety or other related certifications (a plus)
- Strong written, verbal, and basic computer skills (Excel, Word, email)
- Willingness to work safely within company, project, and OSHA safety guidelines on civil/bridge/rail construction sites
- Ability to work nights and weekends
- Valid driver’s license and vehicle
- Ability and willingness to attend training/classes to obtain additional inspection and safety certifications
Responsibilities
- Prepare inspection reports on work in progress and completed work
- Review contractor’s procedures, materials, and work product for conformance with CTA specifications
Pay
Compensation range: $97,980.00 – $111,341.00
