About the role
Horizon Performance Technologies LLC is an OEM engaged in the design and manufacturing of industrial capital equipment in the heat processing industry including ovens, washers, and material handling. Under the direction of the Plant Manager, the Senior Industrial Technician is responsible for supporting all phases of custom equipment builds, including both mechanical and electrical systems. This role requires a highly skilled technician capable of working in a manufacturing environment to assemble, troubleshoot, and support custom-designed industrial equipment from initial build through startup and service.
Responsibilities
- Lead for electrical/mechanical assembly projects for custom equipment builds, including large systems and subassemblies.
- Serve as lead technician during service visits, equipment rework, and system startups.
- Perform complex assembly of components such as fans, burners, pumps, conveyors, and related systems.
- Rework or repair assembled products in accordance with engineering revisions and specifications.
- Approximately 50% travel during the first 18 months, transitioning to approximately 25% travel thereafter.
- Local travel to area shops, vendors, and job sites, with occasional extended travel for field installation and service work.
Skills
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in industrial equipment assembly, maintenance, or manufacturing environments.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical engineering drawings and schematics.
- Experience accessing industrial PLC systems for troubleshooting and diagnostics.
- Strong troubleshooting skills for control panels, field devices, and industrial control systems.
- Experience troubleshooting combustion systems used in industrial ovens and washers.
- Working knowledge of industrial power and control wiring, electrical panels, and gas and steam piping systems.
- Experience working with materials including mild steel, stainless steel, black iron, and CPVC piping.
- Proficiency with shop hand tools, forklifts, and rigging equipment.
Education
Associate's degree in a technical field preferred.
