About the role

In this role, you will oversee the development and implementation of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) programs that ensure compliance with regulations and industry standards. Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive HSE strategies that align with the organization’s mission, ensuring a culture of safety, health, and environmental responsibility.
  • Lead and manage a team of HSE professionals, including engineers, specialists, and support staff, ensuring efficient and effective HSE engineering practices.
  • Ensure the organization complies with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations, permits, and certifications.
  • Stay updated on changing regulations and industry best practices.
  • Develop and implement proactive safety measures, training, and policies to prevent accidents, injuries, and occupational illnesses in the workplace.
  • Conduct risk assessments and safety audits to identify and mitigate potential hazards, providing engineering solutions and preventive measures.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive emergency response plans for HSE-related incidents, including accidents and environmental emergencies.
  • Develop and manage the HSE budget, allocate resources, and seek cost-effective solutions to maintain high standards of health, safety, and environmental protection.
  • Promote environmental sustainability by implementing eco-friendly practices and minimizing the environmental impact of the organization’s operations.
  • Establish and enforce quality control standards in HSE engineering, conducting regular inspections and performance assessments.
  • Collaborate with various internal departments, senior management, and external stakeholders to ensure effective communication, training, and education on HSE matters.

Requirements

You must have:

  • 6+ years of experience in HSE Engineering.
  • 6+ years of leadership and direct team management skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations and best practices.
  • Proficiency in budget management and financial acumen.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and strategic planning abilities.
  • Certification in HSE or a related field is a plus.
