Responsibilities
- Provide technical HSE leadership and day-to-day support to ensure employees, contractors, and visitors work safely.
- Maintain compliance with applicable regulatory, corporate, and customer requirements.
- Drive continuous improvement in safety culture and HSE performance.
- Conduct inspections and GEMBAs.
- Validate risk assessments.
- Support contractor safety.
- Review management of change impacts.
- Maintain compliance tasks and documentation.
- Coach supervisors and employees.
- Analyze HSE metrics.
- Lead or support incident investigations, and ensure corrective actions are completed on time and verified for effectiveness.
- Develop and execute comprehensive HSE strategies aligned with the organization’s mission.
- Implement safety measures, training, and policies.
- Conduct risk assessments and safety audits.
- Develop emergency response plans.
- Promote environmental sustainability.
- Enforce quality control standards.
- Utilize technology for safety monitoring.
- Collaborate with internal departments and stakeholders for effective communication on HSE matters.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, mathematics.
- 5+ years of experience in HSE Engineering.
- In-depth knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations and best practices.
- Strong working knowledge of OSHA requirements, hazard identification and risk assessment, incident investigation and root cause analysis, contractor safety, PPE, emergency preparedness, ergonomics, material-handling safety, lockout/tagout, machine guarding, chemical safety, and environmental compliance obligations.
- Advanced degree in engineering, environmental science, or a related field preferred.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Certification in Health Safety and Environmental from accredited organizations, ISO45000 or IS)14001 auditor training, first aid/CPR, forklift or powered industrial truck safety knowledge, and/or industrial hygiene awareness.
