Sr. HRP Manager, Amazon Leo
About the role
Join Leo, an Amazon venture building a low Earth orbit satellite network to deliver broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities. As the Sr. HRP Manager, you will lead the Site HR Partners team supporting Leo's Production Operations (ProdOps) organization and serve as the single-threaded HRP leader for the ProdOps business. This role offers a seat at both the Leo ProdOps PXT and Leo PXT Leadership tables, contributing to one of Amazon's most ambitious projects in a high-stakes, 24/7 aerospace manufacturing environment.
This is not a standard corporate HR role. ProdOps operates at the intersection of Amazon's people management culture and aerospace manufacturing discipline, supporting managers who are often new to Amazon or to manufacturing. Your team will build sustained advisory relationships, deeply understand the operational context, and enable managers to lead effective teams with confidence and self-sufficiency.
Responsibilities
- Define and own the multi-year HRP strategy for ProdOps, aligning it with Leo's business trajectory (commercial launch, geographic expansion, operational maturity) and translating enterprise HR direction into ProdOps-specific execution.
- Lead and develop a team of Site HRPs supporting the hourly manufacturing workforce across production sites and shifts, setting performance standards, providing coaching, and driving team independence.
- Set the HRP strategy and standard of excellence for ProdOps, defining frameworks, mechanisms, and quality standards for your team’s operations and ensuring a consistent, high-quality manager experience across all sites and shifts.
- Architect the integrated HRP delivery model, designing how Site HRP, Corp ProdOps HRP, and Launch Services HRP connect into a seamless partnership for the business, including shared mechanisms, escalation paths, and governance frameworks.
- Ensure high-quality manager guidance by owning team metrics, reviewing case work for quality and sound judgment, and coaching your team to operate as independent advisors who proactively communicate risks.
- Drive efficiency and continuous improvement at scale by identifying opportunities for standardization, building scalable mechanisms, and shifting team capacity from reactive case handling to proactive, capability-building work.
- Partner with the Global Corporate Employee Relations Director to build listening strategies, design mechanisms to surface employee experience signals early, and provide oversight on ER cases to ensure sound judgment and timely closure.
- Build manager capability through scalable mechanisms such as manager enablement, structured coaching, and proactive insight tools to strengthen the manager population over time.
- Establish data-driven inspection mechanisms, including centralized repositories, dashboard-driven trend analysis, and feedback loops to surface employee experience signals before they escalate.
- Champion AI-first HRP service delivery by setting the vision for tools like Amazon Quick, automated workflows, and self-service mechanisms to reduce manual overhead and increase advisory capacity.
- Regularly travel to production sites to support your team, understand evolving business challenges, and maintain strong relationships with operational leadership.
