About the Role

As the Sr. HR Business Partner (HRBP) in Michigan, you will play a strategic role supporting the company market overseeing about 50-60 restaurants and around 1,500 employees. This role contributes to Wendy’s success by partnering with the Director of Area Operations (DAO) and supporting their District Manager (DM) team. You will identify business needs and implement effective Human Resources strategies, programs, and services. Acting as a strategic advisor, you will support key operational metrics and initiatives that drive performance and employee engagement across company restaurants. Additionally, you will drive initiatives supporting talent development, workforce planning, and employee relations, while analyzing human capital data to provide insightful reports to stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Business Partner: Provide direct strategic partnership to the Director of Area Operations (DAO) and their District Managers (DM). Partner with business leaders to identify needs, analyze metrics, and adjust strategy in support of business objectives. Collaborate in the implementation of Human Resources tactics and programs for assigned areas.
  • Staffing: Design, develop, and execute comprehensive staffing strategies that attract, select, and retain high-potential talent while maintaining optimal staffing levels. Ensure recruiting and retention strategies align with business goals and remain relevant to the target candidate market. Build sustainable talent pipelines, enhance employee engagement, and reduce turnover through data-driven workforce planning.
  • Talent Planning & Development: Facilitate Succession/Bench Planning sessions to identify future bench strength, talent gaps, and at-risk performers. Collaborate with business leaders on employee development needs and bench planning decisions. Assist leaders with development plans for key talent to improve readiness and career progression.
  • Positive Employee Relations and Employee Advocacy: Consult with business leaders to foster a work environment consistent with Dave’s Legacy Values. Provide investigation and consultation support for environmental concerns, activist activity, employee relations, conduct, and performance issues. Manage the investigation process for employment-related claims and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal employment laws. Address employee concerns and facilitate access to HR programs and services.
  • HR Operations: Lead the implementation of employee-facing programs and initiatives, including HR policies and procedures. Support HR subject matter experts in executing compensation, benefits, engagement surveys, leadership assessments, and training programs. Analyze and deliver human capital data into insightful reports and actionable items for your assigned territory on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED (required).
  • 50% travel required.
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources Management, or a related field and 3-5 years of Human Resources experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of HR principles and practices, including recruiting, succession planning, employee development, and employee relations.
  • Understanding of legal principles, including state/province and federal/national labor laws, leaves of absence, and workers' compensation requirements.
  • Strong communication, organizational, planning, and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence business partners and handle confidential information.
  • Experience in conflict resolution, employee investigations, and managing remote activities using applicable hardware/software.
  • Preferred: Experience in classroom training, talent development, and multi-location environments. PHR or related professional designation desirable.

Pay

The base pay range for this position is $81,000–$138,000 per year. The base pay offered will take into account internal equity, budget, and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This range does not include the estimated value of benefits, bonuses, or other incentives. The target annual bonus for this role is 10% of annualized base salary, based on company and personal performance.

Schedule

Expected work location is primarily at Wendy’s restaurants or other field locations as designated by the company. When not working at a Wendy’s location, remote work is permitted. Changes to work location arrangements are subject to managerial approval and business needs.
