Role Summary
The Sr. Home Loan Officer - BD plays a crucial role in generating leads, developing referral relationships, and assisting members with their mortgage lending needs. They analyze loan requests, make credit decisions, originate loans, and maintain confidentiality.
What You Will Be Doing
- Meet monthly individual goals
- Call real estate agents, brokers, financial advisors, builders, and other potential referral sources to generate borrower leads
- Attend open houses and industry events
- Work independently and outside of Gesa offices as needed
- Perform loan origination thoroughly and accurately
- Adhere to Credit Union policies and regulations
- Maintain a professional and courteous atmosphere
- Provide clear explanations of financing options and requirements
- Calculate loan estimates and monitor loan statuses
- Troubleshoot and resolve member and internal inquiries
- Interview members for residential mortgage loans
- Build relationships with real estate agents and the community
- Promptly report concerns to supervisor
- Display respect, trust, and dignity
- Control risks and perform duties safely and soundly
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive data
- Display respect for diversity and knowledge levels
About You
- Three to five years of relevant experience, including mortgage lending experience
- High school diploma or equivalent, with a bachelor's degree in Business Administration or Finance preferred
- Valid NMLS MLO number
- Knowledge of conforming and non-conforming loans, Desktop Underwriting, and lending-specific software
- Experience in developing new business, especially through real estate and membership in professional organizations
- Experience with FNMA guidelines, FHA, and VA loan originations
- Proficiency with standard office equipment, lending software, spreadsheets, and word processing
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong decision-making abilities with attention to detail
Qualifications
- Valid Driver’s License
- Pre-employment credit/background check required

Full Salary Range
$45,760.00 - $350,000.00 (Hourly Base/Commission)
