Sr. Government Relations Specialist

Responsibilities

• State and local bill tracking and analysis for issues affecting Compass Datacenters and the data center industry.
• Making regular monitoring beyond the legislature — regulatory agencies, rulemaking, public comment periods.
• Aiding in state legislative sessions and advocacy efforts; same at the local level.
• Helping coordinate legislative visits/meetings, and site tours for officials.
• Keeping stakeholders informed on legislative and regulatory developments; coordinating RPWs.
• Aiding in the creation of policy briefs, talking points, and one-pagers; maintaining a legislative contact database.
• Attending and helping to manage trade association meetings and working groups; reporting key takeaways back to the business.

Requirements

• 3+ years in government relations, government affairs, or public policy.
• Skilled in bill tracking, regulatory proceedings, and legislative processes.

Qualifications

Preferred: state capital experience with at least one or two legislative sessions.

Preferred: familiarity with relevant regulatory bodies (utility commissions, environmental agencies).

Can distill complex policy into clear, concise briefs for business leaders.
