Sr. Golang Backend Engineer

About the role

The Back End Engineer (Go Primary) team is responsible for cloud IAM capabilities, cloud compliance, and large data platform functionalities. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with AWS services, particularly Lambda serverless capabilities, Step Functions, and Data Pipelines using Step Functions and Lambdas.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain applications using Golang and AWS services.
• Work on data pipelines using Step Functions and Lambdas.
• Utilize Cloud Formation and Docker for infrastructure management.
• Manage AWS IAM policies and ensure compliance with AWS controls.
• Collaborate with a team of 6 to build a comprehensive system for AWS compliance across the firm.
• Handle a high volume of findings generated through monitoring each day, working on a big data platform.
• Expand existing pipelines to integrate with Discover Financial Services.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in software engineering, with a focus on backend development.
• Proficiency in Golang and AWS services, including IAM, Lambda, Step Functions, and Cloud Formation.
• Experience with functional programming and managing large-scale databases like PostgreSQL and Snowflake.
• Previous experience at CapOne is highly preferred.
