Sr. Global Commodities Manager, AWS Infrastructure Supply Chain & Procurement

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We’re the people who keep the cloud running. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on.

We’re looking for an experienced Global Commodities Manager (GCM) to be part of the AWS Battery Team to lead strategic sourcing, technology strategy road mapping development, implementation of industry enabling and related project execution for key battery commodities.

Responsibilities

As a Global Commodities Manager, you will lead internal engagements across Supply Chain, Engineering and Business organizations while diving deep into the technologies and operations both from a product and Supply Chain perspective.

• Lead sourcing engagements and sourcing teams in opportunity identification and RFIs where appropriate
• Develop and implement negotiation strategies to deliver against business objectives and achieve sustainable relationships with suppliers
• Analyze and determine opportunities to leverage and consolidate the supply base using system level tools and techniques
• Evaluate supplier core competencies, technologies, and competitive positioning using industry cost models
• Review and approve a comprehensive list of suppliers for bid processes developed by analyzing the industry to understand trends and competitive positioning
• Negotiate and implement supplier agreements/contracts by working with cross-functional stakeholders and suppliers to reach agreement on contract terms and conditions
• Drive suppliers for continuous improvement manufacturing processes, technology decisions, and policies in ways that are mutually beneficial and sustainable for both organizations
• Manage strategic supplier relationships and establish yourself as a primary business contact for key suppliers

Requirements

• 6+ years of developing, negotiating and executing business agreements experience
• 6+ years of working with Core Cloud Technology Services, including, but not limited to Compute, Edge, Hybrid, Security, and/or Networking experience
• 5+ years of solving problems with technology in the Automotive & Manufacturing industries experience
• 5+ years of solving problems with technology in the Energy & Utilities industries experience
• Experience developing strategies that influence leadership decisions at the organizational level
• Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
• Experience leading complex, multi-year initiatives that may be cross-functional and/or span business and technology

Qualifications

• Experience identifying, negotiating, and executing complex legal agreements
• Experience interpreting data and making business recommendations across leadership and cross-functional teams

Pay

The base salary range for this position is $162,700.00 - $220,200.00 USD annually in Cupertino, CA, and $147,900.00 - $200,100.00 USD annually in Seattle, WA. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
