Responsibilities
- Performing geotechnical explorations, site characterizations, slope stability assessments, and risk evaluation on developments.
- Training and supervision of lab technicians, maintenance of quality reviews and certifications, management of equipment inventory and calibration.
- Client marketing and proposal preparation.
- Overseeing project progress in timeline and budget/profit-loss capacities.
- Assisting Marketing with technical aspects in generating proposals.
- Providing direction on a project to project basis – i.e., preparing lab testing assignments, reviewing documents, and testing results for content and accuracy.
- Preparing geotechnical engineering reports.
- Interacting with clients on technical aspects of the projects.
- Reviewing soils laboratory test results.
- Overseeing quality of work submitted (QA/QC).
- Design development and analysis of earth embankments, earth retaining structures and anchoring systems.
- Performing analysis and design of shallow and deep foundations and slope stability evaluations.
- Maintaining quality control standards and specifications.
Requirements
- 12+ years of experience in consulting engineering on various civil projects.
- P.E. credentialing is required.
Qualifications
- BS Degree in Civil Engineering.
- Master’s Degree in Geotechnical Engineering or Engineering Geology is a plus, but not required.
Skills and Abilities
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to read design drawings.
- Ability to meet schedules.
- Experience with common geotechnical software or ability to utilize software with minimal training.
- Self-motivated, reliable, quality minded, and detail oriented.
