Job Summary

Senior Full Stack Engineer with a strong emphasis on backend development. Responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable enterprise applications and backend services. Hybrid role (2-3 days onsite/week) in New York City. 12+ month contract; must be local for in-person interviews.

Key Responsibilities

  • Architect, develop, and maintain resilient backend services, RESTful APIs, and microservices.
  • Integrate backend APIs with modern frontend frameworks (React/Angular).
  • Lead design sessions, architectural decisions, and write clean, well-documented code.
  • Ensure applications are secure, scalable, reliable, and compliant with corporate policies.
  • Troubleshoot complex production issues and implement sustainable fixes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Product Owners, UX, Cloud Engineers).
  • Mentor junior developers and promote engineering best practices.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years of professional full stack/backend development experience.
  • Strong hands-on expertise in at least one backend language (C#/.NET, Java, Node.js/TypeScript).
  • Experience with frontend technologies (React/Angular, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript).
  • Extensive experience with RESTful API and relational database design (SQL Server, PostgreSQL).
  • Deep understanding of secure coding practices, OAuth2/OIDC, JWT, SAML, and directory integrations (Active Directory).
  • Knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG).
  • Experience with cloud platforms (Azure or GCP), Git, and CI/CD pipelines.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and microservices orchestration.
  • Familiarity with event-driven architecture and messaging systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ).
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum in large-scale enterprises.
  • Prior work in the utility, energy, or regulated industries.
  • Experience developing reusable design systems or component libraries.

  • Prior utility, energy, or regulated industry experience.

Other Requirements

  • Must be local to NY/NJ for in-person interview and hybrid work.
  • Open to GC/USC/GC EAD/H4 EAD.
  • Attach driver's license with submission.
