Sr Fleet Mobile Mechanic 6 am - 2:30 pm

About the role

This position is for a Master-level Technician who delivers high-skill vehicle maintenance and repairs with a focus on exceptional customer satisfaction and cost-effectiveness. Technicians may work independently or in a team environment, performing advanced diagnostics, complex repairs, and direct customer interactions.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance, including oil changes, filter replacements, transmission flushes, and vehicle inspections for mechanical deficiencies.
• Conduct light and major repairs, advanced vehicle diagnostics, and state safety/emissions testing.
• Repair and maintain systems such as OBD II, brakes, tires, suspension, electrical, HVAC, engines, driveline components, and hydraulics.
• Maintain and repair equipment like cable trailers and laptop docking stations.
• Keep the shop area clean, dispose of fluids safely, and adhere to safety standards.
• Create and maintain vehicle history and maintenance records.
• Up-fit new vehicles with necessary equipment and perform custom fabrication, including welding.
• Troubleshoot and repair complex systems, including hydraulic systems, generators, hybrids, and onboard computer systems.
• Perform roadside assistance as needed and coordinate with vendors for parts and repairs.
• Diagnose and repair a wide range of automotive components, including brakes, drivability, emissions, steering/suspension, and major engine systems.
• Work on multiple applications, including light-duty to Class A heavy trucks, mechanical equipment, machinery, and passenger vehicles.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED and 5 years' experience in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education (e.g., certification beyond HS diploma/GED) and 3 years' experience, or 7 years' experience in a related field.
• Master Level ASE certification preferred; must maintain current ASE status through ongoing training.
• Valid driver’s license required; must be able to obtain and maintain a Driver Qualification File.
• Ability to drive vehicles with standard and automatic transmissions.
• Ability to work safely in a fast-paced environment, with frequent standing, walking, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, bending, squatting, and climbing.
• Vision abilities including close, distance, and color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds (tools, equipment).
• Transmission and diesel experience preferred.
• Extensive training and 5-10 years of hands-on diesel repair experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of DOT and CDL requirements for medium and heavy truck applications.
• Ability to obtain a Class A or B Operator’s License if required.
• A current and valid DOT medical card with more than four months remaining may be submitted in lieu of a DOT physical.

Pay

Hourly pay rate ranges from $35.29 to $52.88 per hour. The base rate may vary based on location, candidate qualifications, and experience. Additional compensation may include commission or incentive programs.
