Sr. Fitter/Welders

Responsibilities

• Lay out and cut complex subassemblies or final product
• Fit and complete final welds and/or multi-pass welds
• Apply appropriate welding processes to join, surface, fabricate, and repair parts of metal or other weldable materials according to layouts, work orders, blueprints, schematics, and sketches using manual and/or semi-automatic welding equipment
• Lay out and mark weld points on parts or subassemblies
• Position pieces to be welded into jigs, holding fixtures, guides, and steps using measuring instruments and hand tools
• Inspect completed work for conformance to specifications
• Observe all standard safety practices
• Maintain and complete all required records
• Follow all safety rules and practices
• May be involved in safety committees or initiatives

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of applicable welding experience
• Ability to successfully pass a 2G Flux Core (FCAW) weld test on 1” plate (bend test)
• Flux Core experience is highly desired
• Experience welding or fitting utility structures or similar products is highly desired, but not required
• Ability to adhere to all safety rules and practices
• The ability to maintain reliable and predictable good attendance
• A high level of dependability, a great attitude, and an ability to work well with a team towards achieving a common goal

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver's license

Skills

• Manual and/or semi-automatic welding equipment
• Measuring instruments and hand tools
• Blueprints, layouts, schematics, or work orders

Pay

Commensurate with experience
