Job Summary

Performs a variety of skilled maintenance duties related to facility engineering and maintenance functions, while providing field leadership, ensuring quality assurance, supporting training efforts, and managing escalations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assists in making decisions on all normal and complex repairs; reports major problems to the maintenance supervisor and foreman.
  • Constructs, finishes, installs, maintains and repairs electrical and mechanical systems, or the facilities of any related systems, using power and hand tools and other necessary equipment.
  • Supervises and leads a group of workers on a project.
  • Teaches advanced maintenance skills to other members of the department.
  • Reports on and repairs discrepancies as assigned.
  • Analyzes and corrects complex building system problems, alone or as part of a team.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Conduct Inspections, Testing, Routine Maintenance, and Repairs

  • Conducts inspections, testing, routine maintenance, and repairs on fire alarm systems in accordance with NFPA standards, local codes, customer requirements, and company procedures.
  • Troubleshoots fire alarm system deficiencies, diagnoses equipment failures, replaces system components, and performs corrective repairs on a variety of fire alarm system manufacturers and related equipment.
  • Performs scheduled annual, quarterly, and periodic inspections while accurately documenting findings, deficiencies, completed repairs, and inspection results using service software and reporting tools.

Communicate Inspection Results, System Deficiencies, Recommended Corrective Actions, and Repair Solutions

  • Communicates inspection results, system deficiencies, recommended corrective actions, and repair solutions clearly and professionally with customers while maintaining strong customer relationships.

Manage Service Calls, Schedules, and Follow-Up Corrective Work

  • Manages service calls, schedules, and follow-up corrective work to ensure timely response and completion of service activities across commercial and industrial job sites.

Maintain Compliance with OSHA Safety Procedures, Company Safety Policies, and Safe Work Practices

  • Maintains compliance with OSHA safety procedures, company safety policies, and safe work practices while working at heights using ladders, lifts, and scaffolding.

Qualifications

  • Texas FAL required
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferred
  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience servicing and inspecting fire alarm systems
  • Strong knowledge of fire alarm systems and related equipment
  • Must have one of the following: Valid driver’s license
