About the role
The Senior Financial Data Analyst plays a pivotal role within DLA Piper's Data Analytics group, supporting the firm's strategic initiatives through data-driven forecasting, analytics projects, and data innovation efforts. This role demands strong analytical and technical skills, financial acumen, and a commitment to leveraging data for impactful business outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Utilize Power BI and other advanced analytics tools to deliver comprehensive and high-impact analytics, forecasting, reporting, and insight-driven solutions.
- Collaborate with FP&A, Service Delivery, Senior Finance leadership, and other key stakeholders to identify and prioritize complex business problems.
- Implement best practices and innovative solutions to enhance data integrity.
- Drive and manage large-scale analytical projects that span multiple teams and functions.
- Coordinate cross-functional efforts to ensure project alignment with business objectives and successful execution.
- Analyze trends and derive actionable insights to address complex business challenges.
- Design and develop advanced solutions to streamline processes, improve data quality, and drive intelligent automation.
- Champion continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.
- Engage with stakeholders at all levels to understand their needs and provide tailored data solutions.
- Strong communication and financial storytelling skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Desired Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret large complex datasets, identify trends, and provide actionable data-driven insights.
- Highest proficiency in data visualization tools (Power BI Report Builder/SSRS or Tableau).
- Experience in management reporting, report creation process, and dashboard design.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office, with advanced skills in Excel, including complex formulas, pivot tables, data analysis, VBA, and data visualization techniques.
- Experience with advanced statistical methods and data modeling techniques.
- High proficiency in programming languages.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing business needs.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and high level of accuracy in work.
Minimum Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Data Science/Analytics, Computer Science, or related field.
- 4+ years’ experience as a Financial/Business/Data Analyst or similar role, including experience with data modeling, statistical analysis, and processes.

Physical Demands

Work Environment
