Sr Financial Analyst- Finance Budget

Location: 71 Haynes Street (10627), onsite at Manchester Memorial Hospital.

About the Role

Prepares, monitors, and maintains annual operating and capital budgets of Hartford Health Care Corporation and its various affiliates. Reports to the Departmental Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Gather and organize financial data from Finance departments.
  • Compile and analyze financial reports and find discrepancies that require senior management's attention.
  • Prepare financial reports with reliable conclusions that management can use to implement more effective operational strategies.
  • Forecast models for non-patient revenue changes and expenditure increases/decreases.
  • Initiate ongoing interaction with Business Leaders to achieve the maximum accuracy of financial reporting for operations.
  • Enlist and coordinate support of other team members to complete all necessary analyses for the various adjustments and allocations.
  • Analyze and communicate findings on trends and reviews flux analyses for reasonableness; partner with Finance leadership for further review before distribution.
  • Meet and interact with Administrative and Operational personnel to provide detailed explanations in support of all financial reports produced for monthly submission.
  • Serve as the point person for requests from Operational Departments for additional reports or inquiries on existing financial reports, including Profit & Loss Statements by department.
  • Design, build, implement, and maintain creative and effective approaches to data collection, management, analysis, formatting, and reporting utilizing various software packages (e.g., Word, Excel, Essbase reports).
  • Work efficiently and independently with the ability to establish priorities and manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Verify the validity and accuracy of reported data utilizing problem-solving and troubleshooting techniques; compare information to other sources to ensure validity and accuracy.
  • Work collaboratively with Senior Administrators and Department Heads to review financial performance.
  • Demonstrate flexibility in schedule to meet with various individuals and/or Administrators when they are available.
  • Cross-train and support other accountants within the accounting team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, accounting, or related field.
  • Minimum three years of experience in budgeting, financial analysis, or accounting preferred, with a thorough understanding of financial analysis and planning, and its role in directing operations and planning future ventures.
  • Proficiency in PC-based applications including spreadsheets, database development and management, and word processing.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Self-motivated and self-directed individual.
  • Ability to react and respond to a dynamic environment with limited direction.
