Sr. Financial Analyst - Corporate Finance

Location: Grand Rapids, Michigan (901 44th Street SE)

About the role

Our Corporate Finance team is looking for a Senior Financial Analyst who can be instrumental to the internal and external financial reporting and analysis of our $3 billion global organization. This role works with the rest of the finance organization to consolidate the financial statements to support quarterly and annual SEC filings and will work cross-functionally across various global departments, including direct interaction with the Global Finance Leadership Team.

Responsibilities

• Preparing global financial statements and disclosures in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
• Owning complex accounting areas requiring professional judgment and estimation.
• Performing technical accounting analyses, drafting supporting documentation, and participating on cross-functional project teams for non-routine transactions.
• Analyzing financial results and preparing monthly business and management reports.
• Supporting external reporting requirements, including preparation of report packs and footnote support for HNI Form 10-Q and 10-K filings.
• Collaborating with global finance partners and other functions to support accurate financial consolidation and reporting.
• Leading or supporting ad hoc projects and technical deep dives across accounting and finance topics.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 5+ years of accounting or finance experience; public accounting experience preferred.
• CPA certification.
• Demonstrated proficiency applying Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) to complex accounting topics.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to tailor information for different audiences.
• Ability to analyze business and financial information to support sound decision-making.
• Proven ability to prioritize work, manage deadlines, assess resources, and define next steps.

Skills

• Experience in public accounting.
• Advanced education or credentials demonstrating technical accounting expertise (e.g., MBA, MSA, CMA, or equivalent).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel, for financial analysis and reporting.
