About the role

The Sr. Financial Analyst serves as a strategic business partner responsible for financial planning, forecasting, performance analysis, and capital allocation across the organization. This role supports executive decision-making through rigorous financial analysis, long-range planning, and business performance management while ensuring resources are allocated to the highest-value opportunities. The position plays a key role in the enterprise capital planning process, partnering with business leaders to evaluate investment proposals, develop business cases, assess returns, prioritize capital deployment, and monitor investment performance. The Sr. Financial Analyst helps drive profitable growth, optimize return on invested capital, and support the achievement of the company's strategic and financial objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the enterprise capital portfolio by tracking approved investments, monitoring spend versus authorization, assessing post-investment returns, and providing recommendations on capital allocation and prioritization to maximize shareholder value. (35% of time)
  • Support the capital planning process by evaluating CAPEX requests, developing business cases, performing ROI and payback analyses, and monitoring project performance against approved investment assumptions. (20% of time)
  • Drive continuous improvement in planning processes, financial reporting, forecasting accuracy, and use of planning systems and business intelligence tools. (15% of time)
  • Monitor and analyze key operating metrics, identifying opportunities to improve growth, productivity, profitability, and returns on invested capital (ROIC). (10% of time)
  • Develop financial models and scenario analysis to evaluate revenue growth, gross margin, operating expenses, capital investments, and profitability opportunities across the company. (10% of time)
  • Prepare executive-level reporting packages, dashboards, and presentations for senior leadership, highlighting performance trends, risks, opportunities, and investment recommendations. (10% of time)

Qualifications

  • BS in Finance or Accounting. MBA and/or CPA preferable.
  • 8+ years of progressive finance, FP&A or strategic planning experience in a complex financial environment.
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles with knowledge of financial planning systems.
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with financial planning software required.
  • Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills including the ability to present and explain financial results in a credible, professional manner to a wide variety of audiences.

Pay

Pay range is $48-53/hr.

Schedule

Hybrid Tuesday-Thursday Onsite in Fairhaven, MA. Contract - 3 months.
