Sr Financial Analyst

We are looking for a Financial Analyst to join a hospital-focused finance team in Kennewick, Washington. This contract opportunity is ideal for someone who can turn complex financial information into practical insights that support planning, performance improvement, and leadership decisions. The role will contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and operational analysis while working closely with clinical, operational, and technology partners to strengthen financial visibility across the organization. Responsibilities:• Evaluate hospital financial results and convert data into meaningful analysis that supports strategic planning, budget development, and operational decision-making.• Build and assess financial models, department-level projections, cost studies, and workforce productivity reporting to guide business performance discussions.• Examine fluctuations in spending and revenue, identify underlying drivers, and present clear explanations for monthly and periodic variances.• Work alongside department managers to track staffing efficiency, resource consumption, and overall operational productivity.• Create and refine recurring reports, dashboards, and performance indicators that help leaders monitor financial and operational outcomes.• Contribute to the annual budgeting cycle and maintain ongoing forecast updates to reflect changing business conditions.• Reconcile financial information across systems, investigate inconsistencies, and verify the accuracy of underlying data sources.• Partner with IT, operations, and clinical stakeholders to improve the availability, usability, and reliability of financial reporting tools and information. • Experience performing financial analysis in a healthcare, hospital, or similarly complex operating environment. • Strong knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and cost accounting principles. • Proficiency with accounting software systems and practical understanding of core accounting functions, including accrual-based processes. • Ability to develop reports and interpret data using tools such as Crystal Reports, CRM platforms, and financial applications including ADP-related systems. • Demonstrated skill in data mining, trend evaluation, and translating large data sets into actionable recommendations. • Familiarity with auditing practices, financial controls, and methods for validating data accuracy. • Working knowledge of capital planning and resource management concepts. • Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate across finance, operations, clinical teams, and leadership.
