Sr Financial Accounting Specialist

Position Summary

The primary job function is to perform most advanced accounting functions involving the practical application of established accounting standards, theories, principles, and practices.

• CA: $76,829 to $142,213
• NJ, NY, WA, HI, AK, MD, CT, RI, MA: $69,845 to $129,284
• AZ, CO, WY, TX, ND, MN, MO, IL, WI, FL, GA, MI, OH, VA, PA, DE, VT, NH, ME: $62,860 to $116,356
• UT, ID, MT, NM, SD, NE, KS, OK, IA, AR, LA, MS, AL, TN, KY, IN, SC, NC, WV: $76,829 to $142,213
• In CA: Typical hiring range is $98,569 to $120,473

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the preparation, analysis and evaluation of subsidiary general ledgers.
• Prepares and maintains highly complex operating and financial reports.
• Ensures the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements are completed in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and statutory accounting principles (SAP) including footnote disclosure.
• Performs advanced financial analyses and special projects as required by financial management.
• Maintains relationships with outside auditors and public accounting firms.

Education Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with emphasis/major in accounting program or equivalent education.
• CPA or MBA is preferred.

Experience

• At least 5 years of experience in accounting, including 2 years of public accounting, preferably in a Big Four firm.
• Insurance accounting experience is a plus.

Pay Range
