Sr Finance Manager

About the Role

This position serves as a strategic, hands-on business partner to Finance Leadership and operational leaders, driving financial planning, reporting, and decision support across multiple business entities and departments.

Responsibilities

  • Utilizes financial reporting and forecasting tools to facilitate the development of annual budgets and quarterly financial forecasts.
  • Prepares accurate and timely financial reporting packages for the Board of Directors, department, and operational leaders.
  • Provides actionable insights to operational business partners and helps implement improvements.
  • Leads or supports monthly meetings with operational and functional leaders to review and discuss financial performance.
  • Creates financial models and pro forma analyses to support decision-making, such as analyzing the financial impact of new business acquisitions, services, or processes.
  • Establishes strong working relationships with business partners at all levels of the organization.
  • Communicates in a responsive, professional manner to ensure regular, consistent communication and effective decision-making.
  • Leads and mentors a team of Finance Managers and/or Analysts, providing day-to-day guidance, reviewing work product, and supporting professional development.
  • Serves as the Finance lead for assigned business segments, owning the full P&L narrative from budget through close.
  • Drives process improvement initiatives across financial reporting and forecasting workflows, including system enhancements and standardization of reporting tools.
  • Partners with senior operational leaders to develop financial strategies, identify risks, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Leads cross-functional projects, including new service line launches, acquisition integration, or entity onboarding from a finance perspective.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting is required. A degree in a different discipline will be considered with extensive professional experience in Finance or Accounting.
  • Minimum 7 years of progressive experience in corporate finance or operations finance, including at least 2 years in a lead or supervisory capacity.
  • Experience in health care services is a plus.

Skills & Knowledge

  • Demonstrated working knowledge of profit and loss statements, cash flow statements, balance sheets, and inter-company financial reporting.
  • Knowledge of finance and accounting functions, including budgeting/forecasting, financial modeling, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Experience managing or mentoring finance staff and reviewing analytical work product for accuracy and completeness.
  • Familiarity with multi-entity consolidations and segment-level financial reporting in a complex healthcare or services organization.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to collaborate effectively with all levels within the organization.
  • Demonstrated resourcefulness and comfort with complexity; ability to respond to ambiguity by working with others to gain clarity and alignment.
  • Keen attention to detail and pursuit of truth/accuracy.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Excel, PowerPoint) and financial forecasting tools (Solver).

  • Lead cross-functional conversations with confidence, representing the Finance team’s perspective and driving alignment without escalation for routine decisions.
  • Anticipate the financial information needs of business partners, proactively surfacing risks, opportunities, and recommendations.
  • Coach and develop junior finance team members, providing meaningful feedback on analytical work product.
  • Navigate organizational complexity and ambiguity with maturity, exercising sound judgment on when to act independently and when to escalate.
  • Influence outcomes and drive accountability through strong working relationships with operational and functional leaders.
  • Balance the role of hands-on analytical contributor and team leader, knowing when to execute directly and when to delegate effectively.

Work Environment

  • Normal office environment.
  • Occasional travel may be required.

Physical/Mental Demands

  • Requires sitting and standing associated with a normal office environment.
  • Some bending and stretching are required.
  • Manual dexterity using a calculator and computer keyboard.
