Sr. Field Service Technician

Responsibilities & Expectations

  • Perform testing and maintenance on low, medium and high voltage power distribution equipment for commercial and industrial clients.
  • Test and calibrate instrument transformers, power transformers, cable testing, circuit breaker & switchgear testing, primary & secondary injection testing, protective relay testing, continuity, ground fault, power quality, troubleshooting, inspecting, start-ups, and collecting data on switchgear, circuit breakers, cables, transformers, protective relays, VFDs, and ATS.
  • Service and repair inspections, diagnose issues, replace parts, make recommendations, and recommission equipment.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols including LOTO.
  • Contribute to a strong team environment through assisting teammates in achieving mutual goals.
  • Communicate all information to customers in a way they understand the issues and resolutions.

Qualifications and Competencies

  • Associate degree from an accredited 2-year technical college in Electrical Power, or similar experience/training from the military (Army Prime Power, Air Force Electrical Power Production, or NAVY Seabee) preferred.
  • NETA Certification (II, III) highly preferred or equivalent skills/experience to become NETA Certified.
  • Power DB experience a plus.
  • 3+ years of driving experience along with a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, operating manuals, and safety guidelines.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, overtime, and weekends, and be on call.

Hourly Pay Rate

$30 - $85 per hour
