Sr. Federal Software Project Manager - US Remote
About the role
For our client, we are seeking a Sr. Federal Software Project Manager to join the team of a leader in the Telecommunications & Hardware space. This role will guide complex federal software initiatives from planning through delivery, with a strong focus on execution, stakeholder alignment, and measurable outcomes. The ideal candidate will bring deep experience managing multidisciplinary teams, budgets, risks, and schedules in a highly regulated environment. Success in this position will depend on the ability to support federal contracting efforts, maintain project discipline, and serve as the main point of contact for customers and stakeholders. This is a remote opportunity supporting mission-driven work within a technology organization serving public sector needs.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement the master project plan using project management tools
- Define and measure performance goals for project success
- Utilize best practices to ensure effective project delivery
- Lead multidisciplinary teams toward successful project completion
- Serve as the primary contact for customers and stakeholders
- Monitor project budgets and financial objectives
- Provide risk assessments and mitigation plans throughout the project lifecycle
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, or Business Administration
- 8+ years of software project or program management experience
- PMP certification required; advanced certifications preferred
- In-depth knowledge of federal contracting and security frameworks
- Proven success in proposal development for federal procurements
- Familiarity with enterprise project management tools
- Ability to obtain U.S. Federal Security Clearance
