About the role

The Sr. Exploitation Specialist/Data Scientist will support the Analysis Office (AOT/US SOCOM) at the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) in Sneads Ferry, NC, delivering AOS Metadata Cataloging and Management Services. The role involves understanding client datasets, creating data-driven solutions, leading process development, and analyzing large, diverse datasets.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with clients to understand and address their data-related questions and issues
  • Determine the best method and approach to create data-driven solutions within program guidelines
  • Lead and assist in the development of automated processes and data science solutions
  • Design and refine existing processes in collaboration with stakeholders
  • Translate road map features into components/tasks, estimate timelines, identify resources, suggest solutions, and recognize possible risks
  • Conduct exploratory data analysis to identify meaningful relationships, patterns, or trends from complex data
  • Implement optimization models, strategies, and methods to inform data management activities and analysis
  • Use big data analytic tools to deliver impactful insights and assessments
  • Conduct peer reviews to improve workflow, procedures, and methodologies
  • Build high-performing teams and mentor team members to enhance their technical skills and knowledge

Requirements

  • Possess a Master's degree in Data Science or a related technical field
  • Experience developing and working with AI/ML
  • Advanced programming experience with HTML 5/Javascript, ArcObjects, Python, Model Builder, Oracle, SQL, GIScience, GeospatiavAnalysis, Statistics, ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Server, Arc SDE, ArcIMS, NET, Python, C++, and/or JAVA
  • Experience building and maintaining databases of GEOINT, SIGINT, or OSINT data
  • Data Visualization experience including Matrix Analytics, Network Analytics, and Graphing Data

Qualifications

  • Experience in applying mathematical techniques and programming skills to data analysis
  • Ability to adapt to mission requirements and solve complex problems
  • Knowledge of web interface development and geodatabase development
