About the Role

NRECA is a unique national trade association providing advocacy, financial services, and business support services to over 900 consumer-owned electric cooperatives across the country. This position is located in Arlington, Virginia, and reports to the office five days a week. We are seeking an experienced and highly professional Executive Assistant to provide confidential, high-level administrative support to the Chief Operating Officer (COO). This role is critical to the effectiveness of the COO and requires exceptional judgment, organization, technology-savvy, and proactive problem-solving skills. The role also works as part of a team with two other executive assistants who support the CEO and board of directors.

Responsibilities

  • Provide confidential, high-level administrative support to the COO, including complex calendar management, scheduling, travel coordination, and expense reporting.
  • Anticipate and resolve scheduling conflicts; prepare the COO for meetings and speaking engagements with agendas, briefing materials, and talking points.
  • Coordinate special projects and high-level meetings by collaborating with senior leaders and cross-functional teams to develop plans, communications, and follow-through.
  • Develop speaking presentations and compile background materials.
  • Maintain accurate records, budgets, and files across NRECA systems; document procedures to ensure business continuity.
  • Support COO preparations for board, committee, and affiliated meetings; serve as a trusted liaison with internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • 8+ years of executive-level administrative support experience.
  • Proven experience working with senior leaders.
  • Familiarity with government, Capitol Hill, association, or industry environments preferred.

  • Ability to work full-time onsite at NRECA’s Arlington headquarters.

Physical Requirements

The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures, transcribing, viewing a computer terminal, and extensive reading. Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for sedentary work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for light work.

Pay

Salary range: $123,000–$151,000 annual salary. Final compensation determined by individual qualifications, experience, and internal equity.
