About the role

Responsible for establishing, streamlining, and managing processes, procedures, and programs related to escrow operations and support functions. Manage and lead a team who perform a wide range of duties related to escrow operations. Partners with and acts as a liaison between groups to ensure compliance, policy adherence, production goals, and timelines are met.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all aspects of a closing, including receiving and reviewing new contracts, preparing estimated closing statements for buyer and seller, preparing files for signing, monitoring the closing, and auditing escrow files.
  • Respond in a timely, professional manner to customer inquiries and complaints.
  • Request and verify all necessary information, such as payoffs, abstracts, title evidence, reports, mortgage documentation, and other pertinent details.
  • Review files for completeness, compliance, and resolution of title issues prior to closing.
  • Prepare and submit closed loan packages, deposits, disbursement documentation, recording packages, final policy packages, and/or commission packages to appropriate departments or entities.
  • Prepare HUD settlement statements and other required documents.
  • Supervise and provide guidance to staff members, including conducting educational and informational meetings and overseeing training.
  • Actively seek new business by attending sales meetings, real estate events, escrow, and management meetings, and interacting with lending and banking to increase capture rate.
  • Provide backup support to the escrow branch manager and assign files as they are received by the branch.
  • Focus on client retention and development of new business.
  • Resolve issues arising from closings or day-to-day operations.
  • Monitor staff productivity to ensure customer service and time needs are met.
  • Review and approve invoices for payment related to office expenses.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as requested or assigned.

  • Adhere to company HR policies, the Code of Business Conduct, and all subsidiary and department policies and procedures, including protecting confidential company information, attending work punctually and regularly, and following good safety practices.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Two years of supervisory experience preferred.
  • Seven years of experience as an Escrow Officer.
  • Approval from the Department of Corporations required.

Skills

  • Proficient in using personal computers and related software.
  • Strong marketing and sales skills preferred.
  • Superior interpersonal and communication skills, including presentation skills.
  • Strong customer service focus and ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects concurrently under deadline pressure, with occasional overtime during peak times.
  • High degree of integrity, self-motivation, organization, and attention to detail, with a strong aptitude for figures.
  • Effective analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Pay

$80,000.00 - $85,000.00 annually; actual wage based on education and experience. Potential for formulary incentive plan based on financial results.
