Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and manage EHS programs, policies, and procedures in accordance with local, national, and international regulations (e.g., OSHA, EPA, ISO 14001, ISO 45001) and corporate standards.
- Drive standardization and scalability of EHS practices across manufacturing operations.
- Led continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety performance and environmental outcomes.
- Ensure full compliance with all applicable EHS regulations and standards.
- Oversee internal and external audits, inspections, and regulatory reporting.
- Maintain required documentation, permits, and compliance records.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies and third-party auditors.
- Conduct comprehensive risk assessments, job hazard analyses (JHAs), and environmental impact evaluations.
- Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
- Monitor key EHS performance metrics (TRIR, DART, near-miss reporting) and drive targeted improvements.
- Partner with operations, engineering, and maintenance teams to integrate EHS into production processes.
- Provide guidance on safe equipment design, process changes, and new product introductions.
- Support facility expansions, new site launches, and capital projects with EHS expertise.
- Manage environmental programs including waste management, hazardous materials handling, air emissions, and water compliance.
- Support corporate sustainability and ESG initiatives through data tracking and performance improvements.
- Identify opportunities to reduce environmental impact and improve resource efficiency.
- Develop and deliver EHS training programs tailored to manufacturing personnel and leadership.
- Promote a strong safety culture through employee engagement, leadership coaching, and behavioral-based safety programs.
- Drive accountability at all levels of the organization.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in occupational health & safety, Industrial Hygiene, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific or engineering field.
- Minimum of 5–7 years of progressive experience in Environmental Health & Safety within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and ISO standards (ISO 14001, ISO 45001).
- Demonstrated experience implementing and managing EHS programs in a production setting.
- Proven ability to lead incident investigations and drive corrective actions.
