About the role
We are seeking a Senior Network Support Engineer to join our Enterprise Network team. This role involves overseeing and enhancing our sophisticated network infrastructure, which spans from datacenters to millions of end-users across financial institutions. The position requires managing network moves, upgrades, and incident resolution, troubleshooting complex wired and wireless connectivity issues, implementing network optimizations, and ensuring robust, high-performing connectivity across our organization.
Responsibilities
- Assist in maintaining and deploying multi-vendor high-availability network solutions to support enterprise and data centers environments, ensuring compliance with financial industry regulations and security standards.
- Configure and maintain network devices such as routers, switches, Wireless Controllers (eg Cisco, Arista).
- Support the implementation of network protocols such BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, MPLS, L3 VPNs, VxLAN, DMVPNs etc.
- Maintain and leverage network automation scripts using Python, Ansible to safely execute changes to production network devices.
- Provide support for the Wireless Environment across all locations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Security, Systems, and Operations, to deliver reliable and secure network services.
- Utilize existing SOPs to execute disaster recovery and business continuity exercises.
- Participate in capacity planning and network expansion projects, ensuring scalability and future proofing of the infrastructure to meet the growing needs of banks and credit unions.
- Create and maintain detailed network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and operational procedures.
- Regularly troubleshoot, resolve network issues.
- Participate in on-call rotation with other members of the team.
- Provide guidance to junior engineers and support staff.
- Stay current with emerging networking technologies and recommend improvements to enhance performance and reduce operational risk.
Requirements
- At least 7 years of experience as a network engineer within a large enterprise environment.
- Expertise in Layer 2/Layer 3 networking protocols, including VLANs, STP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS.
- Hands-on experience CLOS architecture (eg. Cisco ACI, Arista, Spine/leaf).
- Familiarity with real-time telemetry, analytics, and automation for enterprise, campus, and data center networks using Arista CloudVision.
- Experience managing high-capacity core network infrastructure connecting data centers, regional hubs, and cloud environments.
- Hands-on experience with network automation and scripting (eg Ansible/Python).
- Familiarity with SD-WAN and cloud networking solutions (eg AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
- Familiarity with Cisco ASA and Palo Alto firewalls.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication and documentation skills.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology.
- Cisco CCIE or CCNP.
- Datacenter or service provider routing and switching experience.
- Experience creating and deploying MOPs in Fintech or Financial Services Sector.
