Primary responsibilities

Axip’s management team will rely on the Senior Engineer to maintain and develop regional business with current and future clients. The Senior Engineer will manage a team of engineers, technicians, and support staff on water resource projects, from planning through design and construction.

Qualification Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering required. Master’s Degree is a plus.
  • Professional Engineers License preferred or ability to be licensed in Minnesota within 6 months is required.
  • 15 years of experience working as a Civil Engineer in the water resources and stormwater management field.
  • Strong project management skills and experience are essential for this position.
  • Construction management experience is also required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a prerequisite.
  • Must be detail-oriented, self-motivated, with strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Flexible working style and willingness to occasionally modify personal schedules as required to meet deadlines and/or client needs.
  • Proficient using Microsoft Windows/Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Experience in watershed modeling, storm water collection system design, pump station design, sizing and selecting equipment, preparing civil design drawings, and preparing cost opinions is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of Minnesota stormwater design standards and permitting.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Bentley OpenRoad Design, or other CAD-based civil design software is a plus.
  • A valid driver’s license is required or the ability to obtain one.
  • This position will require the initiative to think independently and make rational judgment calls.
  • Must be able to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Ability to operate a computer under normal ergonomic office conditions.
  • Required to work in the office and occasionally work in an outdoors environment during construction season.
  • May require prolonged periods of standing and walking to perform some of the typical tasks and duties associated with construction site visits.
  • Required to lift objects or containers weighing a minimum of 50-lbs.
  • Travel and out of town stays may be required.
  • Must be able to work scheduled hours which typically exceeds 40 hours per work week.

Pay

Base Salary Pay Range: $125k - $175k (Actual base pay is dependent on several factors, including experience, education, licensure, job location, and internal equity.)
