About the role

This role is responsible for designing, building, and supporting scalable OneStream planning solutions that enable enterprise financial planning and forecasting capabilities for our FP&A Business Partners. The Senior Engineer will work closely with FP&A, Data, and our EPM Platform Engineering teams to build and expand connected planning solutions using OneStream and related technologies. This is a hands-on engineering role focused on solution development, planning platform expansion, and modernization initiatives. The ideal candidate brings strong EPM Platform implementation experience, FP&A domain knowledge, and the ability to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions. You'll be expected to drive design decisions, not just implement them.

Responsibilities

  • Planning Solution Engineering
    • Design, develop, and enhance OneStream Planning solutions supporting enterprise planning models across revenue, customers, capex, workforce, and other planning domains.
    • Lead end-to-end solution design from requirements through deployment, including technical documentation and peer review.
    • Build scalable planning applications supporting forecasting, workforce planning, and connected planning capabilities.
    • Develop driver-based planning models, scenario analysis, and rolling forecast capabilities.
    • Translate FP&A business requirements into scalable, enterprise-grade OneStream planning solutions.
  • Development & Platform Engineering
    • Develop and maintain Business Rules and calculations using VB.NET/C# scripting and native OneStream capabilities.
    • Build and maintain Cube Views, Dashboards, and Data Entry Forms, Extensible Dimensionality (XD), routines to support planning workflows.
    • Build and maintain Workflow profiles, Task Groups, and Workflow Steps to orchestrate the end-to-end planning process including input, review, and approval cycles.
    • Implement error handling, logging, and diagnostic routines within Business Rules using OneStream's Logging API and BRUtils methods.
    • Support application performance optimization, cube tuning, metadata management, security, and usability improvements.
    • Contribute to scalable application design, reusable components, and engineering best practices.
    • Participate in new capability development and platform expansion initiatives.
  • Integrations & Data Management
    • Design and support integrations using OneStream Data Management Rules, Data Integration connectors, and related integration frameworks.
    • Configure Data Integration connectors (File-based, JDBC, REST API, Boomi) to load Actuals, master data, and reference data from various ERP and HR systems such as SAP, Oracle, Workday, and Salesforce.
    • Support master data synchronization workflows including automated dimension member updates, hierarchy refreshes, and member attribute maintenance.
    • Partner with Data and FP&A teams to improve data quality, reconciliation, and planning workflows.
  • Collaboration & Delivery
    • Collaborate with global engineering teams, FP&A stakeholders, and cross-functional partners to deliver high-quality planning solutions.
    • Support Agile delivery practices and continuous improvement initiatives.
    • Present trade-off analyses to non-technical finance leaders.
    • Mentor team members through technical guidance and knowledge sharing.
    • Create and maintain technical documentation, system designs, and operational procedures.
    • Contribute to broader platform strategy as the team scales.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree plus 5 years of related work experience OR Advanced degree with 3 years of related experience (Required). Acceptable areas of study include Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Management, or equivalent experience in the field.
