Responsibilities span quotation, development, and mass production phases, including technical communication, documentation, and leadership in root cause analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Localize new product designs for manufacturing, including those from the Americas and Japan regions.
  • Create registered parts lists for the manufacturing site based on engineering bills of materials.
  • Request work orders to build samples and coordinate execution with production engineering.
  • Coordinate with customers on project milestones, sample deliveries, and documentation.
  • Write and issue build instructions when engineering assembly drawings are not fully released.
  • Program and bench test samples.
  • Provide engineering support for on-site Design Validation (DV) and Product Validation (PV) environmental testing.
  • Perform failure analysis and troubleshooting for internal samples, validation samples, or customer field failures; prepare failure reports as needed.
  • Support model changes or new model introductions in post-production.
  • Address component changes due to end-of-life issues or supply chain disruptions, including part specification analysis and decision-making.
  • Analyze and comprehend customer requirements and needs.
  • Modify existing designs or create new hardware designs to meet customer operational and performance requirements.
  • Perform analysis, simulation, and verification of analog and digital hardware, including associated firmware.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, customers, and vendors on existing and new projects.
  • Prepare and maintain engineering documents: Parts Lists, Bills of Materials (BoMs), IMDS, Design Notifications, and Change Notifications.

  • Experience creating worst-case analysis; proficiency with MathCAD is desired.
  • Proficient in using laboratory test equipment (e.g., multimeters, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, power analyzers).
  • Ability to conduct investigative circuit analysis using schematics and testing equipment.
  • Familiarity with automotive SoCs is highly desirable.
  • Experience with communication protocols: CAN, LIN, USB, SENT, Ethernet, MII, SERDES, PCIe.
  • Proficiency with Intrepid/Vector CAN toolchain is highly desirable.
  • Ability to read and create electrical schematics and engineering drawings.
  • Experience with schematic capture and PCB layout using Altium Designer or equivalent tools.
  • Circuit analysis and simulation using SPICE-based tools.
  • Familiarity with programming in C or C++ to collaborate effectively with software teams.
  • Ability to coordinate program activities with remote team members.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
