Sr Engineer

This position will support engineering activities for renewable and transmission projects within the Engineering and Construction department. The preferred candidate is responsible for providing power system analysis, steady-state and dynamic modeling, generation and transmission planning for all Wind, Solar, Battery Energy Storage, and stand-alone transmission/substation projects.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical expertise to all aspects of generation interconnection processes and operational requirements.
  • Create and validate PSSE, PSLF, and PSCAD models for solar, wind, and battery projects.
  • Perform and review steady state, dynamic, short circuit, and other power system analyses for renewable facilities.
  • Monitor dynamically changing interconnection requirements from regional agencies and advise stakeholders on the expected impacts.
  • Perform assessment for compliance with IBR standards such as IEEE 2800, ERCOT NOGRR 245, PRC-029, and other similar requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with regional modeling requirements for new and existing generation projects.
  • Develop software tools that enhance system reliability and organizational efficiency.
  • Contribute new designs or techniques that others within the industry regard as major advances in their area of expertise.
  • Ensure implementation of standards, policies, training, and support of the organization.
  • Prepare communications, presentations, and conduct meetings.
  • Plan and organize projects.
  • Apply highly specialized knowledge in carrying out work.
  • Provide technical support to lower-level professionals.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
  • 4+ years of relevant experience.
  • Valid Driver's License (NON CDL).

Qualifications

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Experience with power system analysis tools including PSS/E, PSCAD, Aspen, TSAT, and GE PSLF software.
  • Strong understanding of electrical engineering concepts such as power flow, stability, voltage regulation, reactive support, etc.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Certified Professional Engineer (PE) preferred.

Schedule

This is a remote position, with occasional travel to Juno Beach, FL as needed.
