What You Will Do
- Perform RMF Authorization to Operate (ATO) and NSA Type 1 Cryptographic Certification activities, including development and maintenance of required security documentation, evidence, and assessment artifacts
- Analyze system requirements, models, interfaces, and architectures to identify security vulnerabilities, develop mitigation recommendations, and maintain traceability between security requirements and system implementation
- Lead security engineering inputs for assigned system design reviews and document security risks, requirements, recommendations, and resolution status
- Collaborate with systems engineers and software/hardware developers to integrate security requirements into system designs and track security issues through verification and closure
- Develop and execute security-focused Software Verification & Validation activities, including test plans, test procedures, test cases, test conduct, results documentation, and remediation analysis
- Coordinate assigned cybersecurity engineering activities across systems engineering, software, hardware, and test organizations and provide status and technical findings to program leadership
- Assess applicable security threats, vulnerabilities, and industry practices and evaluate their impact on assigned system architectures, requirements, and implementations
Qualifications You Must Have
- A degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) or an Advanced Degree in a related field with a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience
- A minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field with a minimum of 3 years of experience
- A U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
- An Active and transferable SECRET U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date
- Experience performing cybersecurity or product security engineering activities for embedded, aerospace, defense, or other mission-critical systems
- Experience developing or executing security-focused system verification and validation activities, including test plans, procedures, test conduct, and results analysis
- Experience applying Risk Management Framework (RMF) processes to system certification, authorization, or security assessment activities
- Experience decomposing, allocating, implementing, and verifying cybersecurity requirements using systems engineering practices
- Experience analyzing system requirements, models, diagrams, interfaces, or architectures to identify security risks and develop mitigation recommendations
- Experience developing technical security documentation, including security requirements, assessments, certification artifacts, or verification documentation
Qualifications We Prefer
- Active and transferable TOP SECRET clearance
- Experience with NSA cryptographic certification, Cross Domain Solution (CDS) requirements, and NIAP
- Experience with DOORS, JIRA, Confluence, Cameo (MBSE), or other systems modeling and agile tools
- Security-related certifications (e.g., CISSP, Security+)
- An Electrical or Computer Engineering degree
- Experience with security protocols used in embedded systems and communications for aerospace environments
- Experience using DoD-focused security assessment tools such as SCC, NMAP, Evaluate-STIG, Nessus, ACAS, Vulnerator, eMASS, etc.
- Experience with satellite systems, communication systems, or other mission-critical embedded systems
- Ability to collaborate across engineering disciplines and communicate technical security risks and recommendations to engineering and program leadership
- Demonstrated ability to drive security activities to completion and influence technical decisions
