Sr. Embedded Firmware Engineer, Annapurna Labs ML Acceleration Systems Software

About the role

The Machine Learning Systems Firmware Team at Annapurna Labs is seeking candidates with a passion for developing data-driven software for our advanced machine learning acceleration servers. Our team works closely with hardware, test, and manufacturing teams to ensure seamless integration and rapid deployment of our software.

Responsibilities

• Develop firmware to initialize, monitor, and manage custom machine learning accelerators at AWS scale.
• Collaborate with the Hardware, Test, and Manufacturing teams to create a coordinated software package for qualification and rapid deployment.
• Create software (C, C++, Python, Lua) that can be maintained, improved upon, documented, tested, and reused.
• Lead the design or architecture of new and existing systems, focusing on reliability and scalability.
• Mentor and lead an engineering team, fostering a culture of knowledge-sharing and mentorship.

Requirements

• 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience.
• 5+ years of leading design or architecture of new and existing systems.
• 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
• Experience as a mentor, tech lead, or leading an engineering team.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of computer architecture, operating systems, and parallel computing.
• Experience with system performance, memory management, and parallel computing principles.
