You will work with a multidisciplinary team to rapidly bring groundbreaking ideas to full-scale production devices trusted by thousands of associates at Amazon's facilities worldwide. Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain both safety and non-safety rated systems used in what may be the world’s largest autonomous robot fleet.
  • Learn and master multiple components including networking/WiFi, security, and a variety of sensors.
  • Participate in the architecture of complex systems and collaborate with coworkers to realize team goals.
  • Provide feedback in the peer review process and effectively communicate with technical leadership.
  • Create solutions that balance world-class performance and world-class safety.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to develop, test, and debug safety and non-safety rated robotic systems.
  • Participate in the design process, analyze potential safety hazards, and implement new products and features.
  • Write automated tests or conduct live testing to debug and root-cause issues.
  • Occasionally engage in live debugging of systems at fulfillment centers.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
  • 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language.
  • 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability, and scaling) of new and existing systems.
  • Experience as a mentor, tech lead, or leading an engineering team.
  • 5+ years of development experience in C or C++ within an embedded environment or with robotic systems, including direct, hands-on experience designing, developing, and debugging one of the following: consumer electronics, medical devices, automotive systems, avionics, industrial, or telecommunications products.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
  • Familiarity developing in a safety standards-controlled environment such as IEC 61508 or ISO 26262.

Pay

Base salary range: $168,100.00 - $227,400.00 USD annually (locations: North Reading, MA or Westboro, MA).
