Sr Electrical Engineer
About the Role
In this role you will, under limited supervision, execute advanced maintenance activities or operate assigned equipment, facility, utility, and Electrical Systems in accordance with guidelines and operating procedures. Conduct intermediate trouble shooting and employ advanced predictive technologies to identify root cause and appropriate corrective actions to diagnose or avert equipment problems. This role will be supporting the New Albany, Advance Assembly and Packing Facility as part of the F&E Infrastructure operations department.
Independently provides and/or directs process optimization strategies and/or trouble shooting of operational issues in the site utilities operation and Electrical systems. Applies diverse engineering principles to the design and implementation of major system modifications, experiments, process and/or capital projects. Develops, organizes, analyzes, and presents interpretation of results for operational issues or engineering projects of scope and complexity.
Responsibilities
- Complete complex or novel assignments requiring development of new and/or improved engineering techniques and procedures.
- Designs, reviews, and manages electrical systems and subsystems focusing on safety, EMC, power, and related applicable compliance.
- Power, control, and communications architecture and design for product and its application environment.
- Development of electrical requirements and specifications.
- Cost effective electrical design solutions for manufacturability.
- Collaborates effectively with technical cross-discipline to develop innovative system solutions.
- Prepares and conducts technical design reviews.
- Develop engineering policies and procedures that affect multiple organizational units.
- Supervise, coordinate and review work contractors/suppliers on an ongoing basis as well as on a project basis.
- Employ advanced engineering techniques and/or modifications of advanced techniques within area of engineering expertise.
- Apply knowledge of engineering principles and practices outside of area of field expertise to broad variety of assignments in related fields.
- Serves as a peer-recognized engineering technology specialist for low, medium, and high voltage electrical systems, with overall responsibility for determining methodologies in that area.
- Own the equipment's and/or systems related to the Site Electrical System.
- Have deep technical understanding of Transformers, Generators, Uninterruptible Power Systems, Rotary Uninterruptible Power Systems, Motor Control Centers, Switchgears, Medium.
Qualifications
- Doctorate degree OR
- Master's degree in engineering and 2 years of electrical or automation experience OR
- Bachelor's degree in engineering and 4 years of electrical or automation experience OR
- Associate's degree in engineering and 8 years of electrical or automation experience OR
- High school diploma / GED and 10 years of electrical or automation experience
