About the role

MOOG Space and Defense Group is seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join the electrical engineering design team. This role owns the electrical design lifecycle for complex boards and subsystems.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret requirements and define system and block-level architectures
  • Create schematics and block diagrams
  • Validate designs through analysis and test
  • Develop and maintain clear design documentation
  • Provide PCB design guidance (stack-up, routing, SI/PI considerations)
  • Support board bring-up and lab debugging
  • Lead design efforts, mentor junior engineers, and coordinate multi-discipline teams
  • Anticipate and resolve novel engineering challenges

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field
  • Minimum 7 years of hands-on hardware/electrical design experience
  • Self-motivated, strong analytic and critical thinking skills
  • Proficiency with schematic capture and PCB layout tools (e.g., Cadence Allegro, Altium)
  • Experience with modeling and simulation tools (SPICE, MATLAB/Simulink, Mathcad)
  • Working knowledge of Signal Integrity (SI) and Power Integrity (PI) analysis and practical mitigation techniques
  • Familiarity with power devices/modules or motor control (a plus)
  • Proven ability to produce clear design documentation and support board bring up and lab debugging

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s or advanced degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • Knowledge of harsh-environment / aerospace-grade hardware (radiation-tolerant design, thermal vacuum testing)
  • Demonstrated history of both analog (instrumentation) and digital design implementation and commissioning
  • Experience collaborating with SI/PI or FPGA teams and using modeling evidence to support design reviews

$135,000.00–$155,000.00 Annually
