Key Job Responsibilities
Design and implement energy-efficient electrical controls systems for data centers
Create comprehensive documentation for electrical EPMS controls designs and operational procedures
Support continuous improvement through data analysis and system optimization
Guide project teams through planning, execution, and commissioning phases
Conceive, initiate, and lead projects with widespread impact on infrastructure design, innovation, and implementation
Decompose complex problems into straightforward and actionable solutions
Work with internal teams to understand user requirements and challenges
Collaborate with teams or individuals from other disciplines, cultures, and countries
Escalate issues as required and communicate clearly and effectively at the appropriate level of detail with people from a wide range of technical abilities and backgrounds
Produce clear and concise documentation such as detailed design specifications, white papers, wiring schematics and diagrams, and reports
Understand and safeguard implementation of the Global Electrical Controls Basis of Design (BoD) with constant auditing
Drive standardization in the data center electrical-controls space
Development of strategic solutions, which meet or exceed our quality requirements and fall within our budgetary requirements
Capture requirements and turn aspirational company or customer goals into well-defined, achievable and testable specifications and solutions
Define project scope and provide technical support for information requests prior to, and during innovation and research and development projects
Provide technical support on global Large Scale Events (LSE’s), including participation on deep dives, investigations and recommendations on mitigation plans
Ability to work on concurrent projects in multiple geographical regions
Maintain and host technical EPMS forums to provide a collaborative environment for development of data center controls systems
Provide support and mentorship for the whole of the Data Center Engineering community
Have fun and offer creative out-of-the-box solutions
Basic Qualifications
4+ years of industrial or commercial engineering in mission critical facilities including but not limited to: data centers, power generation or oil and gas facilities
Experience in industrial or commercial engineering in mission critical facilities including but not limited to: data centers, power generation or oil and gas facilities
Experience with CAD software (AutoCAD, REVIT, BIM 360, etc.)
6+ years of design, construction, operations, or facility maintenance experience
Experience researching new designs, technologies, and construction methods
Knowledge of electrical and controls systems for critical infrastructures
Preferred Qualifications
Professional Engineering or Architectural License
Knowledge of building codes and regulations for your region
Experience carrying design concepts through exploration, development, and into deployment or mass production
Experience reading, interpreting, and creating construction drawings, specifications, and submittal documents
Minimum 2+ years experience with products required controls designs. Examples include: Siemens: Apogee/Disego, Honeywell: Building Controls/Trend, Schneider Electric: PowerLogic/Struxureware, Rockwell Automation: FactoryTalk, Tridium Niagra, Eaton: Foreseer, ABB: Decathalon, Johnson Controls: Metasys
