Sr. Electrical Controls Engineer, Data Center Engineering

Responsibilities
- Design and implement energy-efficient electrical controls systems for data centers
- Create comprehensive documentation for electrical EPMS controls designs and operational procedures
- BIM/CAD experience
- Support continuous improvement through data analysis and system optimization
- Guide project teams through planning, execution, and commissioning phases
- Conceive, initiate, and lead projects with widespread impact on infrastructure design, innovation, and implementation
- Decompose complex problems into straightforward and actionable solutions
- Work with internal teams to understand user requirements and challenges
- Collaborate with teams or individuals from other disciplines, cultures, and countries
- Escalate issues as required and communicate clearly and effectively at the appropriate level of detail with people from a wide range of technical abilities and backgrounds
- Produce clear and concise documentation such as detailed design specifications, white papers, wiring schematics and diagrams, and reports
- Understand and safeguard implementation of the Global Electrical Controls Basis of Design (BoD) with constant auditing
- Drive standardization in the data center electrical-controls space
- Develop strategic solutions, which meet or exceed our quality requirements and fall within our budgetary requirements
- Capture requirements and turn aspirational company or customer goals into well-defined, achievable and testable specifications and solutions
- Define project scope and provide technical support for information requests prior to, and during innovation and research and development projects
- Provide technical support on global Large Scale Events (LSE’s), including participation on deep dives, investigations and recommendations on mitigation plans
- Ability to work on concurrent projects in multiple geographical regions
- Maintain and host technical EPMS forums to provide a collaborative environment for development of data center controls systems
- Provide support and mentorship for the whole of the Data Center Engineering community
- Have fun and offer creative out-of-the-box solutions
Qualifications
- 4+ years of industrial or commercial engineering in mission critical facilities including but not limited to: data centers, power generation or oil and gas facilities experience
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field
- Experience in industrial or commercial engineering in mission critical facilities including but not limited to: data centers, power generation or oil and gas facilities
- Experience with CAD software (AutoCAD, REVIT, BIM 360, etc.)
- 6+ years of design, construction, operations, or facility maintenance experience
- Experience researching new designs, technologies, and construction methods
- Knowledge of electrical and controls systems for critical infrastructures
