Job Summary/Responsibilities
- Mentor, grow, and recruit staff.
- Lead a team of professionals overseeing the drainage design of large scale complex projects with a near-term emphasis on design-build delivery.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for project plan production and technical reports.
- Establish budgets and schedules for project deliverables.
- Develop and manage key client relationships.
- Provide technical expertise for studies and design efforts.
- Present complex technical solutions to clients.
- Perform quality control reviews of work developed by others.
- Participate in the development of technical proposals.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure integrated design solutions.
- Stay updated on industry trends and innovative drainage technologies.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to drainage systems.
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize project sustainability and environmental impact.
- Coordinate with contractors and construction teams during project implementation.
- Conduct site visits and field investigations to assess drainage conditions and requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree + 8 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or relevant field.
- 15+ years of experience in drainage design.
- 2+ years of WSDOT highway drainage design experience within the last 4 years.
- A current P.E. license in the State of Washington.
- WSDOT Highway Runoff Manual Training Certification.
- Experience developing proposals, scopes of work, and budgets.
- Knowledge of agency/regulatory approval process, standards, and best practices.
- Client connections and relationships with local and state agencies.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
