Sr Director/VP Medical Education, Hospital & Institutional Engagement
Essential Responsibilities
- Lead the development and execution of medical education programs across live, in-person, virtual, and online channels, including CME structure, program design, and compliance-related process handling.
- Lead scientific exchange programming - advisory boards, symposia, speaker programs, and a cross-specialty grand rounds circuit at target academic and community health systems - personally fronting in-room exchange at major institutional engagements.
- Present to hospital leads and quality officers at peer level, providing executive-level institutional engagement that complements and extends the Medical Science Liaison organization.
- Develop and communicate institution-specific clinical and health economic analyses, covering measures such as readmissions and length of stay, to inform hospital leadership decision-making.
- Serve as senior strategic partner to MSL specialist leads on top institutional accounts, and to MSL Residency Engagement Leads on residency curriculum efforts.
- Build discharge protocols and transition-of-care templates for hospital and ER discharge moments.
- Partner on perioperative pathway tools across ophthalmology, cardiothoracic, vascular, and general surgery, and extend the workflow-integration approach into cardiology and oncology referral and discharge moments.
- Position primary care as a core audience for educational initiatives, developing decision-support tools that integrate into existing workflows.
- Oversee national deployment of residency curricula integrating disease state education into training pathways, with emphasis on primary care and other high-relevance residency programs.
- Operate as a hands-on member of the senior Medical Affairs team, personally writing and presenting institutional and educational content.
- Conduct all engagement as non-promotional scientific exchange under the PhRMA Code and FDA non-promotional standards, ensuring institutional, educational, discharge, and pathway content meets standards for accuracy, fair balance, and regulatory compliance with complete reference documentation.
- Support compliance activities including training and SOP development, and participate in MLR review and sign-off as needed.
Professional Experience/Qualifications
- Experience Background in hospital medicine, acute care, or institutional quality improvement strongly preferred.
- Medical educator, such as residency program faculty or an institutional educational leadership role.
- Demonstrated public-facing communication ability; comfortable presenting to and engaging hospital leadership and quality officers as a peer.
- Hospital management or institutional leadership experience strongly preferred.
- MLR review and approval.

- Cross-specialty range, comfortable engaging primary care, hospital medicine, emergency medicine, perioperative, cardiology, and oncology stakeholders.
- Self-directed and high-output, able to sustain a demanding institutional travel and engagement schedule.
- Collaborative partner who works effectively across Medical Affairs leadership and cross-functionally.
- Detail-focused, with no tolerance for scientific overclaiming or imprecision.
Qualifications
- Physician (MD or DO), PharmD, or advanced practice clinician (NP or PA) required.
- Experience engaging health systems or integrated delivery networks.
- Experience with implementation science, quality improvement, or hospital operations.
- Experience leading medical education initiatives.
Compensation
The anticipated base salary range for this position is $340,000 –$390,000 annually. This range represents a good-faith estimate of what The Company reasonably expects to pay for this position at the time of hire. Actual compensation will be determined based on factors including relevant experience, skills, qualifications, and internal equity. This position is also eligible for an annual target bonus and equity compensation as determined by the Company’s compensation committee.
