Overview and Responsibilities

The Senior Director of Technical Program Management (AI) collaborates with engineering management. They lead the development and growth of AI-driven platforms and systems. Enhance capabilities within the Consumer AI organization.

This role sits at the intersection of technology, product, and business strategy translating AI concepts into scalable, production-grade systems that deliver measurable impact.

  • Become a key contributor on the PMO AI solutions team, actively collaborating in the ideation, design, and build of AI-generated tools and automation workflows to impact productivity, efficiency, and project/people data insights.
  • Drive clarity on priorities and tradeoffs across AI investments to maximize long-term leverage and impact.
  • Establish and track portfolio-level success metrics connecting model performance, adoption, and business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic AI Portfolio Leadership
  • Enable software product operating models that support high-volume experimentation, rapid learning cycles, and continuous improvement.
  • Establish planning rhythms, reviews, and metrics. Ensuring accountability and give senior management visibility.
  • Drive clarity on priorities and tradeoffs across AI investments to maximize long-term leverage and impact.
  • Establish and track portfolio-level success metrics connecting model performance, adoption, and business outcomes.
  • Serve as a key contributor on the PMO AI solutions team, actively collaborating in the ideation, design, and build of AI-generated tools and automation workflows to impact productivity, efficiency, and project/people data insights.

Program Management: Risk, Dependencies, and Go-to-Market Integration

  • Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate technical, delivery, and systemic risks along with recommended mitigation strategies and decision points.
  • Own dependency management across multiple teams, platforms, and product surfaces, ensuring sequencing, interfaces, and handoffs are clearly understood and actively managed.
  • Drive issue resolution for complex, cross-team challenges by facilitating rapid root-cause analysis, aligning stakeholders on tradeoffs, and ensuring timely, durable outcomes.
  • Partner closely with adjacent engineering, platform, and product teams to ensure AI/ML capabilities are production-ready, scalable, and aligned to go-to-market timelines.
  • Synthesize and communicate clear, data-driven insights on program health, risks, and strategic tradeoffs to engineering management and executive stakeholders.
  • Lead executive-level discussions on program health, delivery progress, and measurable outcomes across AI initiatives.

Basic Qualifications

  • 12 + years of experience in Technical Program Management, or similar roles.
  • Proven experience leading AI / ML specific portfolio-level programs spanning multiple teams and product areas, with a focus on consumer-facing capabilities and business growth.
  • Deep knowledge of agile, lean, and iterative delivery models, with the ability to adapt them to non-traditional workflows.
  • Remarkable communication skills. Proficient in managing stakeholders. Ability to work well with others.
  • People management skills, including experience managing managers.
  • Relevant technical certifications such as cloud platforms, AI/ML foundations, Generative AI, Technical Program/Product Management, or Technical/Engineering.
  • Demonstrated hands-on use of AI-assisted development tools, low-code/no-code, for prototyping, automation, and analysis.

Additional Qualifications

  • Knowledge with the end-to-end ML lifecycle: data sourcing, model training, evaluation, deployment, and monitoring.
  • Experience with experimentation frameworks including A/B and multivariate testing, offline vs. online evaluation, and model iteration loops.
  • Knowledge of model performance metrics and tradeoffs (accuracy, latency, bias, explainability).
  • Experience supporting applied ML use cases such as personalization and recommendation systems, search and ranking, content knowledge, or generative AI for text, image, or video.

Pay and Benefits

Hiring Salary Range: $156,800.00 - 235,200.00.

The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.

The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.

This position is bonus eligible.
