About the role

As the Sr. Director, Sales Finance - Deal Desk, you will serve as a critical strategic partner to the Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) and the global sales organization. You will lead the financial strategy, structuring, and governance that drive our go-to-market (GTM) execution, maximize revenue growth, and optimize margin performance. This is a high-impact role requiring a blend of deep technical finance expertise, strategic commercial acumen, and the ability to navigate complex, high-value hardware and software capital expenditure (CapEx) cycles within the hyperscale, enterprise, and AI cloud service provider (CSP) markets. You will build and lead the underlying Sales Finance Deal Desk function.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary financial advisor to the Global Sales leadership team. Evaluate market trends, pipeline health, and deal mix to maximize total contract value (TCV) and gross margins while balancing aggressive top-line growth with gross margin expansion and strict financial compliance (ASC 606 / US GAAP).
  • Serve as the executive architect and global leader of our commercial deal orchestration engine, operating at the intersection of Enterprise Sales, Corporate Finance, Legal, Supply Chain, and Product Management. Lead a world-class team responsible for structuring, evaluating, and approving high-stakes, multi-million-dollar transactions.
  • Design and enforce rigorous review of terms and conditions, pricing and margin frameworks, and commercial models for large-scale server deployments, AI clusters, or other solutions. Partner with Revenue Accounting to ensure compliance with ASC 606 (revenue recognition).
  • Partner with Sales Operations, HR, and OCDM to design, model, and administer global sales commission structures, quota allocations, and SPIFFs that align sales behavior with corporate margin and revenue targets. Own the accuracy of commission accounting, including monthly reconciliations and rationalization.
  • Lead customer roll-up billing versus revenue forecasting, budgeting, and long-range planning processes for global bookings and revenue. Deliver accurate, data-driven revenue projections to executive leadership.
  • Establish, track, and report on key performance metrics, including Customer Acquisition Cost (CAC), Lifetime Value (LTV), Net Revenue Retention (NRR), sales velocity, and discount analysis to support sales management and operations growth.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of progressive finance experience, including a minimum of 5 years in a dedicated Sales Finance, Commercial Finance, or GTM Finance leadership role within the technology sector (Hardware, AI infrastructure, Cloud Services, or Enterprise Software).
  • Deep working knowledge of ASC 606 / US GAAP revenue recognition standards as they pertain to multi-element arrangements (hardware, software, SaaS, services).
  • Public Accounting and CPA or equivalent will be highly beneficial.
  • Expert-level mastery of enterprise sales operations systems (Salesforce.com, Salesforce CPQ, SAP ERP, or other key platforms).
  • 5+ years of direct people management experience, leading cross-regional global teams in a large public company environment ($1B+ revenue scale).
  • Proven understanding of the data center ecosystem, server manufacturing, GPU/accelerated computing supply chains, and mixed hardware/software monetization models.
  • Demonstrated success building or scaling a sophisticated commercial deal desk that supports complex, multi-million dollar enterprise or hyperscale accounts.
  • Strong track record of managing and developing high-performing teams of finance managers and analysts in a fast-paced environment.
  • Expertise in financial modeling, SQL, and enterprise platforms (e.g., Salesforce, Anaplan, NetSuite, Tableau, or similar CRM/ERP/BI tools).
  • Exceptional executive presence; ability to translate complex financial data into actionable strategic insights for C-suite executives and non-finance sales leaders.

Pay

Salary range: $245,000 - $278,000. The salary offered will depend on several factors, including location, level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience, and comparison to other employees already in this role. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as participation in bonus and equity award programs.
