Sr. Director R&D & Innovation Technology Strategy

About the role

As a Sr. Director of R&D and Innovation Strategy at Honeywell, you will shape our technology vision and strategy, drive innovation, and ensure alignment with business objectives. Your leadership will foster a culture of excellence and collaboration across business units. You will report directly to the VP of Technology Transformation and work from our Charlotte, NC location on a hybrid schedule. This role impacts the strategic direction of our technology initiatives, contributing to the organization's overall success by guiding digital transformation and enhancing our competitive edge.

Responsibilities

• Provide visionary leadership for R&D and engineering strategy development, including implementing the Honeywell technology STRAP across all business units and regional initiatives.
• Support CTOs of business units to develop R&D roadmaps aligned with STRAP, business goals, and market trends.
• Drive innovation through exploration of emerging technologies and methodologies, including predictive models and GDM.
• Facilitate co-creation opportunities with internal and external customers to enhance product offerings and market competitiveness.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize R&D initiatives that drive operational efficiency.
• Oversee execution of R&D strategies, ensuring alignment with industry trends and best practices.
• Influence University Relations strategy to build a strong pipeline of early-career talent into the R&D organization.

Requirements

You must have:

• 8 or more years of experience in R&D for buildings, industrial, or process automation strategy, with a focus on influencing senior leaders to align and execute an overarching strategy.
• Experience in software strategy definition and execution.
• Strong strategic thinking and business acumen to drive technological initiatives aligned with business objectives.
• Proven expertise in developing and executing technology strategies that foster innovation.
• Experience with emerging technologies and their application in a business context.
• Knowledge of project management methodologies and tools to ensure effective execution of technology initiatives.
