What You'll Do

As Senior Director of Product Management, Accelerators, you will lead the Product team responsible for an expansive and high-growth portfolio of Property Tax and Business Licenses compliance solutions. You will partner with Accelerators GM leadership to establish OKRs and a multi-year roadmap, providing clarity on product vision. You will drive strategic cross-product and cross-functional initiatives to transform the business and customer experience, focusing on growth. You will interact with customers and Avalara subject matter experts to understand market needs, and work closely with product managers to drive consolidated strategies and roadmaps.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure end-to-end accountability by leveraging your combined product, operational, program, and go-to-market knowledge.
  • Motivate, inspire, and grow your people. Consistently hire A-players, earn their loyalty, and grow their careers.
  • Partner cross-functionally and integrate diverse product portfolios.
  • Drive results through influence and enthusiasm across teams.
  • Conduct briefings and demos both internally and with customers.

What You’ll Need To Be Successful

  • 10+ years of related product management experience and 5+ years of leadership and management experience.
  • Track record of leading a team of 5-20 directs or matrixed employees, and experience influencing product, design, and engineering teams of 40 – 200+.
  • Broad understanding of tax compliance, financial technology, and SaaS environments.
  • Experience with agile development methodologies and commonly used tools such as Jira, Confluence, etc.
  • Experience utilizing customer journey maps to define end-to-end customer experiences.
  • Hands-on experience analyzing data and deriving actionable outcomes.
  • Strategic thinking with the ability to go deep when necessary.
  • A strong collaborator with high EQ and a sense of empathy.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field (accounting, business, or computer science); MBA desirable.
