Position Overview
We are seeking a strategic, people-focused Senior Director of Human Resources to help shape the employee experience and drive organizational success across a growing, mission-driven institution.
Strategic Business Partnership
- Collaborate with executive and operational leaders to align workforce strategies with organizational priorities.
- Provide guidance on organizational design, workforce planning, talent strategy, employee engagement, and change management.
- Identify emerging workforce trends, risks, and opportunities, and recommend innovative solutions.
- Translate enterprise HR strategy into practical actions that drive results.
Talent Management & Workforce Planning
- Lead workforce planning efforts to ensure the organization is positioned for future talent needs.
- Partner with Talent Acquisition and leaders to strengthen recruitment, onboarding, retention, and succession strategies.
- Advance talent review and succession planning processes to build leadership pipelines and organizational readiness.
- Leverage workforce analytics and people insights to inform business decisions and measure impact.
Performance, Culture & Employee Engagement
- Own and evolve Galen's performance management strategy, including goal setting, feedback practices, performance evaluations, and accountability.
- Champion employee engagement initiatives that strengthen culture, connection, and retention.
- Support leaders in fostering a workplace grounded in inclusion, respect, collaboration, and high performance.
- Help guide organizational change through effective communication, leadership readiness, and employee engagement strategies.
Employee Relations & Organizational Risk
- Serve as a senior advisor on complex employee relations issues, workplace concerns, and organizational risk.
- Partner with leaders, Legal, Compliance, and HR stakeholders to address sensitive employee matters.
- Analyze trends and develop proactive solutions that improve leadership practices and reduce organizational risk.
- Ensure consistent application of policies and compliance with employment laws and institutional standards.
Leadership Development & Organizational Effectiveness
- Coach and develop leaders to strengthen communication, decision-making, team effectiveness, and change leadership.
- Support organizational design and restructuring efforts that improve efficiency and accountability.
- Facilitate high-impact talent and organizational discussions that drive meaningful action and results.
- Prioritize leadership development opportunities across the organization.
HR Leadership
- Lead and develop HR Business Partners and other assigned HR professionals.
- Collaborate across Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards, HR Operations, Learning & Development, and HR Systems to ensure alignment and exceptional service delivery.
- Foster a proactive, solutions-oriented HR team focused on partnership, responsiveness, and continuous improvement.
- Contribute to enterprise HR strategy as a senior member of the HR leadership team.
What You Bring
- Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Leadership, or a related field; 10+ years of progressive HR leadership experience; demonstrated expertise in talent management, workforce planning, employee relations, performance management, organizational effectiveness, and change management; experience leading HR teams and driving enterprise-wide initiatives in a complex organization; strong analytical skills with experience using workforce data and metrics to guide decision-making.
- Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in Human Resources, Business, Organizational Development, or a related field; experience in healthcare, higher education, or other complex multi-site organizations; professional certification such as SHRM-SCP, SHRM-CP, SPHR, or PHR.
