About the role
The Senior Director, Global Supply Chain Transformation will lead the design and execution of a multi-year supply chain transformation agenda across a complex manufacturing and distribution network.
Job Duties
- Lead the end-to-end transformation of supply chain planning capabilities across a network of approximately a dozen manufacturing facilities and distribution centers.
- Develop and execute a roadmap to improve supply chain performance through enhanced planning processes, tools, governance, analytics, and organizational capability.
- Identify and prioritize transformation opportunities across demand planning, supply planning, inventory management, S&OP / IBP, constrained supply allocation, scenario planning, and network synchronization.
- Push as much planning and decision making to the local level as practical, while establishing standardized processes, governance, and a common global planning template to ensure consistency, scalability, and enterprise visibility.
- Partner with executive leadership to align transformation priorities with business strategy, growth objectives, customer service expectations, and margin goals.
Functional Leadership
- Own the design, governance, and performance of the company’s demand planning and supply planning processes.
- Improve forecasting and demand signal quality through stronger analytics, cross-functional collaboration, and disciplined planning routines.
- Lead supply planning processes that balance customer service, production constraints, inventory health, transportation realities, and working capital.
- Build planning capabilities that support variable lead times, diverse manufacturing flows, seasonal demand patterns, and product complexity.
- Establish clear planning accountability, metrics, and decision rights across commercial, operations, procurement, and distribution teams.
Data-Driven Decision Making
- Champion the use of data, analytics, and digital tools to drive better planning decisions and operational outcomes.
- Translate complex data into actionable business insights that improve forecast accuracy, plan adherence, inventory productivity, capacity utilization, and on-time delivery.
- Partner with IT, finance, operations, and commercial teams to improve data quality, reporting, and visibility across the supply chain.
- Implement KPI dashboards and planning performance routines to monitor service, inventory, forecast bias/error, schedule attainment, capacity utilization, and OTIF performance.
- Leverage scenario analysis and decision support tools to improve responsiveness to demand changes, supply disruptions, and network constraints.
Cross-Functional and Operational Partnership
- Serve as a key bridge between commercial, manufacturing, procurement, logistics, customer service, finance, and IT.
- Partner closely with plant leaders and supply chain operations teams to ensure planning outputs are actionable, realistic, and aligned with plant capabilities.
- Drive stronger integration between sales, demand planning, manufacturing scheduling, and distribution execution.
- Work closely with Product Management to measure product vitality, identify low-performing or non-strategic SKUs, and accelerate cross-functional decisions on SKU rationalization.
- Influence leaders at all levels to adopt new ways of working and sustain process discipline.
Change Leadership and Capability Building
- Lead organizational change with credibility, resilience, and strong communication.
- Build and develop a high-performing planning and transformation team capable of driving continuous improvement.
- Operate as a player/coach—developing the team while personally engaging in critical analyses, process design, issue resolution, and execution follow-through when needed.
- Create a culture that values transparency, accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning.
- Establish training, governance, and routines that embed new tools and processes into day-to-day operations.
- Act as a change agent who can challenge the status quo while bringing teams along in a constructive and practical way.
