Sr Director, Global Distribution Operations & Logistics

About the role

For our client, we are seeking a Sr Director, Global Distribution Operations & Logistics to join the team of a leader in the Business Services space. This senior leader will own global distribution and transportation strategy across a complex network of company-managed and outsourced centers. The role is focused on driving service, productivity, cost efficiency, and operational standardization across an international footprint. You will partner closely with matrixed teams, third-party logistics providers, and carrier partners to strengthen execution and support enterprise-wide improvement initiatives.

Location: Amsterdam, NY - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Responsibilities

• Shape and execute logistics and distribution strategies across company-managed and outsourced centers
• Lead complex distribution operations with more than 10,000 SKUs, ensuring service and productivity gains
• Provide strategic oversight of global transportation operations, including inbound and outbound logistics
• Champion continuous improvement and standardization of processes across the global network
• Lead matrixed organizations through complexity and change while maintaining performance
• Manage global third-party logistics and carrier performance to drive efficiency and cost reduction
• Drive process optimization, digitalization, and sustainability initiatives

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business administration, logistics, or a related field; MBA preferred
• 15+ years of progressive experience in logistics, distribution, and transportation operations
• At least 5 years in a senior leadership role
• Experience managing operating expense budgets of $100M or more with P&L accountability
• Strong negotiation skills for third-party logistics and carrier contracts, including dispute resolution
• International team leadership experience across time zones and cultures
• Outstanding communication and executive presence

Pay

$225,000 – $275,000 annually
