Sr. Dir., Strategic Technology Initiatives Lead

About the role

For our client, we are seeking a Sr. Dir., Strategic Technology Initiatives Lead to join the team of a leader in the Pharmaceuticals & Biotech space. This role will guide enterprise technology strategy and connect major initiatives to architecture standards, delivery governance, and operational excellence. The leader will partner closely with executive stakeholders and senior technical teams to ensure complex programs are aligned, integrated, and executed effectively. This position will also shape the application of AI and modern engineering practices across strategic efforts to improve quality, consistency, and business outcomes. Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available.

Responsibilities

• Own the connected technology strategy and ensure alignment with enterprise architecture standards
• Ensure strategic initiatives leverage core digital platforms to promote integration
• Lead technical strategy and alignment for ELT-level AI programs and initiatives
• Oversee and develop a team of Senior Technical Architects, balancing workload and maintaining quality standards
• Define the application of AI and modern engineering practices for improved delivery and governance
• Provide structured communication and leadership across initiatives and stakeholders
• Establish operational excellence and governance across initiatives to keep projects on track

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field
• 12+ years of leadership experience in technology strategy, architecture, or program delivery
• Experience leading multiple concurrent technology initiatives and strategies
• Proven track record of developing senior technical talent, including architects and engineers
• Strong understanding of modern engineering practices and AI-enabling technologies

Pay

$230,900 – $384,800 annually
